| Is your Web site lost among the billion pages on the Web? Are you frustrated when search engines bring up every imaginable site but your own? Would you like to maximize your Web site's visibility in the major search engines and directories |
| |

What is a search engine? Search engines utilize special software called robots or spiders. These "spiders" are programmed to constantly "crawl" the Web in search of new pages, updated pages, or dead pages.
They will essentially go to every address listed in your site. When visiting a Web site, a spider will record the full text of every page (home and sub-pages) within the site.
An easy way to tell whether a Web index is a search engine as opposed to another type of directory is by the information it requires when adding your URL. A true search engine will only need the Web address. The spider will take care of the rest. |

What is a
directory? The
difference between a search engine and a directory is that a
directory will not list your URL if you do not register it
with them. They do not make use of software spiders. |
